Doctoral Qualification Exam

The written exams are separated into three categories; students will have 100 minutes to complete each subject within the test category. The test will be sealed. After the tests are scored, the academic committee will determine if the student has passed the entire examination; students who fail to pass the exam will have ONE opportunity to apply for reexamination after one semester. You can obtain exemptions for the subjects you pass the first time from the reexamination. Failure to pass the reexamination will be subject to expulsion from the school. All subjects of the examination need to be passed within 5 semesters since the acceptance into the PhD program (The term(s) and year(s) of an approved leave of absence will not be counted). However, students who are required to take more than 9 college-level course credits will have three years to pass the qualifying exam. Waiver to the written qualifying examination will be given if the student has passed the required courses.
